Over the years, Texas Royalty’s exploration efforts have resulted in drilling prospects testing almost every productive geologic formation in the East Texas Basin. Our exploration focus has remained in East Texas where we have discoveries in Leon, Limestone, Robertson, Freestone, Harrison and Red River Counties. This regional concentration insures that Texas Royalty will continue successful prospecting in the East Texas Basin.
Texas Royalty uses 3-D seismic as a tool to explore new horizons in new prospects as well as within the boundaries of some of our currently producing fields. We have also used 2-D Seismic and Gravity to uncover many of our recent prospects in East Texas. Over the past few years, the company has prospected for large wildcat (“elephant”) structures where success can result in great riches but the risk is commensurate with the reward.
Texas Royalty’s in-house staff teams with outside Geologists, Geophysicists, Engineers and Landmen to explore for oil and gas. These experienced professionals guide our Exploration efforts to those production and drilling projects that will result in the greatest economic reward. They allow us to choose our opportunities wisely in response to ever-changing economic conditions and pricing scenarios.
